Permanently disable ( Permanantly Clear ) recent File history In Windows XP

This setting allows you to permanently disable recent File history In your start menu .... That is a good tweak to protect your privacy from viewing what you viewed and played in media player etc .... Then no one will be able to see what your last recent activities are .......

1 . To open the registry editor ,

Start --> Run --> “regedit” (type) --> Ok

2 . Then find the key bellow In registry Editor

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

3 . Then Create a DWORD value called “NoRecentDocsHistory” As shown above ( right click --> New --> DWORD Value)

4. Double click  on newly created value .... Then you'll see a dialogue box like below .. change it's value data to 1 as shown below ..... then click OK ..... ( if you put 0 instead of 1 to the value data , again it will start to track and record recent file history )

Now you're Done ..... You will never see recent file history In start menu ( It will be shown as empty always ) .... That is very Important to keep privacy .....  Please restart your computer to take effect the changes we made.... Final Result is shown below ....
